A Malpighian tubule bioassay preparation enabled the physiological activity of extracts of the terminal abdominal ganglia and pharmacologically actives substances to be monitored. Results obtained suggest that substances are present in the terminal abdominal ganglia which alter the Malpighian tubule secretion rate.
