Key locations at Hasandag include Helvadere, Yenipinar, Comlekci, Ulukisla, Uluoren, Karakapi, and Akcakent volcanic units, which were studied in detail both petrographically and geochemically by using optical and opaque microscope, ICP-MS, XRF, and powder XRD. All units were composed of andesite, trachyandesite, basaltic andesite, dacite, and rhyolite; subalkaline and calcalkaline with medium-K; and according to Wood (1980) Hf/3-Th-Ta, Hf/3-Th-Nb/16, Zr/117-Th-Nb/16 discriminant diagrams, it represent the d region which is destructive plate margin basalts and its differentiates. These units in Spider diagrams show enrichment of LREE as compared to HREE; slight depletion of Eu; substantial depletion of P, Pb, and depletion of Ta, Nb, Ti, and Sm. Uluoren volcanic unit was composed of several basalt flow structures and were distinguished by using Google Earth images. CIPW norms computed from the results obtained from XRF data show slight differences exits between the two structures. Flow structure-I composed of quartz (30%), plagioclase-andesine (55%), orthoclase (8%), and others (diopsite-1%, enstatite-ferrosilite (=hypersthene)-5%). Flow structure-III composed of quartz (26%), plagioclase-andesine (53%), orthoclase (10%), and others (diopsite-2%, enstatite-ferrosilite-7%, magnetite-1%). Opaques are mostly composed of magnetite, hematite, and ilmenite.
