Years 1850-1950s is a period in which studies on Hadith and the Rules of Muslim Conduct became intense. There have been Orientalists among the Russian orientalists as well, who tried to draw attention to the importance of the Prophet Mohammad?s sayings and Tradition. However, the Socialist Revolution that realized in 1917, caused Orientalism to change direction methodologically as in all areas. After this period, the orientalists studies started to be taken in hand within the framework of Marxist methodology. As far as the biography of the Prophet Muhammad is concerned in the Soviet period, we see that the most emphasized subject is the matter of the birth of the Islam. A connection was made between the birth of Islam and the communal and spiritual crisis experienced in the Arabian peninsula. The prophecy movement (fake prophets) observed in the region in the VII. century is defined as a leadership movement that arose as a result of this crisis. In the Tsarist period, it was argued that the birth of Islam occurred with the effect of religions such as Hanafism, Christianism and Jewism. We can say that despite several studies have been made on the Rules of Muslim Conduct in both periods in the Russian Orientalism, not much works were made on the subject of the Prophet Mohammad?s sayings and Tradition. We can say that this situation was because Orientalism was devoted to government policies and political preferences in both periods. Moreover, translating into Russian the works on the Prophet Mohammad?s sayings and Tradition of some Western orientalists such as Goldziher and contenting with these may have caused the works made on the Prophet Mohammad?s sayings and Tradition to be rather less.","abstract_html":"In the Tsarist Russian Orientalism, the scientific level reached by the West was accepted as a basis, the studies made in the subject of the Prophet Mohammad sayings and the Rules of Muslim Conduct were made generally on the basis of western resources.
