Wpływ pH na wielkość nanocząstek srebra otrzymanych w reakcji redukcji chemicznej

Abstract

W pracy doktorskiej opisano syntezę nanocząstek srebra według zmodyfikowanej metody Lee i Meisela w zakresie pH od 2,0 do 11,0. Jako reduktory wykorzystano pięć kwasów owocowych: cytrynowy, jabłkowy, winowy, glikolowy i migdałowy. Reakcje zostały przeprowadzone bez dodatku żadnych substancji pomocniczych i stabilizujących. Zachowanie takich samych warunków syntezy pozwoliło określić zależności pomiędzy pH reakcji, rodzajem kwasu a rozmiarem i kształtem powstających nanocząstek srebra. The dissertation describes the synthesis of silver nanoparticles according to the modified Lee and Meisel method in the pH range from 2.0 to 11.0. Five fruit acids were used as reducing agents: citric, malic, tartaric, glycolic and almond. The reactions were carried out without the addition of any additives or stabilizers. Maintaining the same synthesis conditions allowed to determine the relationship between the reaction pH, the type of acid and the size and shape of the silver nanoparticles formed. The reactions of reducing silver ions with fruit acids took place at pH 6.0-11.0 for citric acid, at pH 7.0-11.0 for malic acid, at pH 6.0-11.0 for tartaric acid and at pH 7.0-9.0 for glycolic acid. No silver colloids were obtained in the case of the reduction reaction with mandelic acid. In order to determine the properties of the obtained nanoparticles, UV-Vis spectroscopy and the Transmission Electron Microscope were used. The first technique was used to control the reaction progress and the stability of the obtained colloids. The stability of the obtained colloids was also tested using this technique. All obtained colloids proved to be stable for a period of at least seven weeks. Thanks to the use of Transmission Electron Microscopy, the size and shape of the obtained nanoparticles were determined.
