Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis project consists of a recording of nine works that were performed by trombonists in America prior to the 20th century accompanied by a rationale for the selection of the works that were recorded. These works were chosen from the repertoire performed by three significant trombone soloists, as well as significant chamber and orchestral works performed in America prior to the 20th century. This manuscript explores the soloists and their relationship with the pieces they performed, as well as the relevant organizations and composers associated with the chamber and orchestral works.
