A sample population of 13 second grade participants was drawn from a class in a rural school district. The Elementary Math Attitude Survey was administered prior to, and after, the three-week study to determine if there were any enhancements of attitudes towards mathematics. The Math Skill Survey was also administered prior to, and after, the three-week study to detennine if there any increase in student achievement. The results of this study were analyzed using SPSS program. The researcher used tTests for paired samples. The results of this study indicated that the implication of children's literature into the mathematic program in this school setting had a positive influence in second grade mathematic achievement.
