Abstract
dc:descriptionThe purpose of this study is to investigate the status of subjects who have received implant treatments and to improve the perception and satisfaction about implants. One hundred eighty patients over the age of 20 who visited 8 dental clinics and hospitals in Southern Gyeonggi region were surveyed. The survey was composed of a questionnaire with 12 questions on patients’ general characteristics, along with 18 questions on implants. Statistical analysis on the researched data was conducted using statistics software (SPSS 19. 0 version, SPSS Korea Data Solution Inc., 2011). The ratings for satisfaction are on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being most satisfactory. The result of the study showed that the satisfaction level regarding the cost of implant was the lowest (average of 5.51), but the same satisfaction level was higher for those with higher educational levels (p < 0.05). As for whether or not the study subjects had systemic diseases, those who had systemic diseases were investigated to feel more severe pain when they experienced implant surgeries (p < 0.05). The subjects with blood-related diseases showed low satisfaction level regarding aesthetic aspects of implants (p < 0.05). And the result of the satisfaction research on dental care including brushing showed that those without systemic diseases were more satisfied (p < 0.05). It is expected to reduce pain and increase the satisfaction of implant surgeries when systemic diseases are identified, properly managed and treated.
