Exploring the relationship between HPW practices of acute ward staff in NHSL on employee experience

<b>Background</b>: The search for links between high performance work practices and strategic organisational performance stream become a widely accepted debates in many organisations. However many of findings comes from outside of the health sector. <br/><br/><b>Aim</b>: The study filled the gap by exploring the extent to which type of high performance work practice effects on employee experience by looking at the relationship between public service motivations (PSM). In doing, this study attempted to contribute field of literature in HPWS, PSM and P-O fit. Also study has contributed to existing research by exploring the relationship between high performance work practices on employee experience at micro level of Sri Lankan context. <br/><br/><b>Methods</b>: A structural equation model was applied by using 54 responses. <br/><br/><b>Results</b>: The results of the study found that high performance work practices and person organisation fit had substantial positive effects with job satisfaction and organisational commitment and significant negative effects with intention to quit. Further public service motivation had positive effects on job satisfaction and organisational commitment and was the negative effects with quit turnover. This suggested that HPWS leads the public sector enhancing the employee experience.<br/>
