Additionally an effective protocol for the separation of the catalyst from the reaction solution was set up by immobilisation of the PEG-stabilised nanoparticles on an inorganic support (SPPC, Supported Peg Phase Catalyst). Also an effective separation of the catalyst was achieved by taking advantage of the high polarity of the PEG-matrix, enabling a phase switch by decreasing the polarity of the reaction solution. The immobilised nanoparticles (SPP-catalysts) were also investigated in a continuous flow process with scCO2 as the mobile phase.
