Experts still disagree whether there is a typical illness in this connection. In this study patients of the university clinic of obstetrics and gynaecology were tested relating to their physical, psychological and sexual health. Therefore a biographic interview had taken place and the questionnaires ASP, GBB and HADS-D had to be filled out. 7.7% of the examined patients reported about physical and/or sexual violence in former life. Two third of them were assaulted as child. All of them suffered under significant more unspecific physical complaints. They had significant more symptoms of anxiety and depression. Women after physical violence reported more often about anxiety while sexual assaulted women suffered more often under depression. All had significant more sexual problems. With this study it could be proved, that domestic violence is a common problem under women of a gynaecologic clinic and has a lot of unspecific effects on their physical, psychological and sexual health. Physicians need to undergo training in taking medical history in connection with intimacy and partnership. They have to learn about psychosomatic and psychosocial problems as well as sexual difficulties of women.","abstract_html":"Violence against women is a common problem and leads to multiple medical and psychiatric effects.
