All the ruthenium complexes have been obtained in crystalline form, thus allowing a full characterization of their structure by NMR techniques and by X-ray analysis. Complex 1 exhibits a unique reactivity pattern for intra- and inter-molecular activation of C-H bonds (H/D exchange, Murai reaction, hydrogenation of C=O and CN bonds).
