Both processes are mutually determined: the faster the nation-state is being transformed and the faster it loses its present dominance and dies in the end, the larger becomes the acceleration of the process of integration, which ultimate goal is the creation of a supranational entity. Alternatively, a conscious acceleration of the integration causes a faster eradication of the European nation-states. The overcoming of the anachronistic, national sovereignty is the precondition for the further development towards a new, decentralized, federal order in Europe. The transformation of Europe represents a transition from a contract community to a constitutional community. In the end, a federation of new kind is formed. The federalism should be understood here as a dynamic that covers all areas of human activity. It creates a new political framework upward, and develops new social, economic nd cultural structures downward.","abstract_html":"There is a direct relationship between the transformation of the nation-state and the integration dynamics of the European Union.
