Die Untersuchung der Kiefergelenkfunktion bei Zahn- und Kieferfehlstellungen unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Klasse-II-Anomalie
Abstract
dc:descriptionThis study investigates the influence of the morphologic occlusion, especially Angle Class II, on the craniomandibular system. Cross-sectional data of 270 patients with signs and symptoms of craniomandibular disorders and / or morphologic malocclusion were compared by means of model casts, clinical functional analysis, magnetic resonance imaging, panoramic x-rays and lateral cephalograms. The signs and symptoms were correlated one by one or rather in groups where it seemed to be useful. This study concludes that statistical associations exist between certain features of morphologic occlusion and signs and symptoms of craniomandibular disorders. Sagittal morphologic occlusal disharmony, especially Angle Class II, and overjet appear to be more strongly related to craniomandibular disorders than transverse morphologic malocclusion and overbite.
