Therefore concepts to increase productivity of the innovation generation process are of vital importance. The author develops a methodology to analyse innovation productivity. Pure quantitative management ratios cannot take into account the qualitative aspects in a research and development environment, i.e. capabilities and competences. Moreover cause and effect interactions are usually neglected in management ratio systems. The methodology integrates specific evaluated methods and approaches like competence model, typology model, management ratio systems and system dynamics.
