Risikofaktoren für die Entstehung von Leistenhernienrezidiven : eine retrospektive 10-Jahres-Analyse

In the present study 171 shouldice repairs were retrospectively analysed regarding the presence of (in total 15) risk factors and their influence on recurrence. The following factors were independent risk factors: recurrence, smoking and age above 50 years. The factor familiar burden did scarcly not reach significance, but was classified as a risk faktor due to diverse considerations. Analysing different risk factor profiles it was demonstrated, that the presence of at least 2 risk factors lead to a significant higher recurrence rate, which corrobates the hypothesis of a multifactorial genesis of ingiunal hernia recurrence.
