Violation of CP invariance in weak interactions
We present here a new theory of non-leptonic weak interactions based on neutral F-spin currents of the SU, current algebra. Both CP conserving and CP violating non-leptonic processes are generated by the same primary interaction. This interaction is used to calculate the s-wave amplitudes of …

Weak interactions and excited states from Coulomb-attenuated DFT
… application of CAM-B3LYP to the description of weak interactions and excited states. Chapter 3 considers some key problems facing modern DFT—dispersion, fractional spins and fractional charges—in terms of the force and the Feynman electron density distortion, in addition to the conventional …

Some results of the algebra of currents in weak interactions. Part I: The decays K -> 2pi and K -> 2 pi gamma; Part II: Relation between vector and axial-vector cabibbo angles in broken SU(3) symmetry
… to be aqcounted for by the I = 3/2 part of the weak Hamiltonian. We also look for effects of CP violation in differences of the decay rates [equation] and [equation] in the theory of Nishijima and Swank and find no evidence for these differences using different from zero. Part 2 We calculate the …

Current algebras and pion Lagrangians
The theory of weak interactions of non-strange and strange particles is reviewed. The algebra of currents is discussed briefly and applied to the soft pion calculations. The phenomenological non-linear Lagrangians of pions are developed in detail.

From molecular Au(I) complexes to subnanoclusters and nanoparticles: study of the influence of secondary interactions in (photo)catalytic systems
In recent years, hydrogen bonding interactions have garnered significant interest, driven both by the increased use of this metal as catalyst and by the importance of these interaction in enhancing stability. Various studies have evaluated the influence of secondary interactions in the design of …

Stability of an oscillon un the SU (2) gauged Higgs model
… gauged Higgs model -the standard model of the weak interactions without electromagnetism and fermions. In this thesis, we study the stability of these objects. We do this by adding a massless mode to the model and coupling it to the oscillating fields contained in the Higgs doublet. Such a mode …

Adsorption on smooth electrodes: A radiotracer study
… anions and molecules were identified; and weak interactions of adsorbates with the surface of the electrodes were readily monitored.

Plasticity of the Nuclear Pore Complex Revealed With Proteomics
… in addition to the NPC, to reveal novel interactions and arrangements of proteins within a complex. My study on NPC plasticity has produced the first comprehensive description of NPC subunit dynamics, although for the most dynamic subunits I can only approximately estimate the exchange …

Investigations Of Noncovalent Interactions Using Raman Spectroscopy And Electronic Structure Computations
… research focuses on the effects of noncovalent interactions on vibrational energy levels. Vibrational spectroscopy is a powerful tool for the study of the effects of weak intermolecular interactions such as hydrogen bonding and interactions with the environment, including solvation effects. …

Analysis and simulations to obtain the weak magnetism term in ²²Na beta decay
… Conserved Vector Current (CVC) hypothesis for weak interactions and using the magnetic dipole M1 width of the analog 2+ state in ²²Na, one obtains an unexpectedly large 'second-class' form factor for 22Na β decay that is in disagreement with the Standard Model prediction. This thesis describes …

Accelerating NOvA's Feldman-Cousins procedure using high performance computing platforms
… oscillation experiments, where neutrino-matter weak interactions are rare and beam intensity at the far site is low. The NuMI Off-axis νe Appearance (NOvA) collaboration attempts to measure the parameters governing neutrino oscillations within the PMNS oscillation model by comparing model …

Electromagnetic scattering and induction models for spheroidal geometries
… is adopted which accounts for spheroid-spheroid interactions directly. Coherent scattering results from these collections are compared to Mie scattering and the effective permittivity of the dense medium is obtained. Results are in good agreement to the classical mixing formula and this lends …
