A geometric construction of a Calabi quasimorphism on projective space
… in [T] to construct a quasimorphism on the universal cover of the Hamiltonian group of CPⁿ. We also show that this quasimorphism agrees with the Calabi invariant for isotopies that are supported in displaceable subsets of CPⁿ.

The Fundamental Group: A Geometric Perspective
… frameworks, we utilize the construction of the universal covering space. We pull back the metric from a base space to its simply-connected universal cover to show that the covering projection acts as a local isometry. This allows us to analyze the symmetries of the cover through deck …

On uniformization of compact Kähler manifolds with negative first chern class by bounded symmetric domains
… with negative first Chern Class, when is its universal cover a Bounded Symmetric Domain? And if it is, which Bounded Symmetric Domain is it? Existing literature is discussed, with particular attention given to two recent papers of Catanese and Di Scala ([CDS12] and [CDS]) which answer both …

Graded artin algebras, coverings and factor rings
… with relations. Let F: Γ’ → Γ be a topological covering. It is proved in this thesis that there is a set of relations ρ̅ on Γ such that the category of K-respresentations of Γ’ whose images under the covering functor satisfy ρ is equivalent to the category of finite-dimensional, grades …

Relating Thompson's group V to graphs of groups and Hecke algebras
… to be a graph of groups, which acts on its universal cover, the Bass-Serre tree, by tree automorphisms. Brownlowe, Mundey, Pask, Spielberg and Thomas constructed a $C^*$-algebra for a graph of groups, writtten $C^*(\mathcal{G})$, which bears many similarities to the $C^*$-algebra of a …
