A search for top quarks in PP collisions using dileptons
A search for tt pairs in pp collisions with a center of mass energy ,fS = l.STeV is presented. The analysis looks for ti pairs which decayed through the chain ti -+ w+ bW-b -+ f+z;bf-vb where one of the b quarks is explicitly identified. In a sample of 109.4 ± 7.2 pb-1 of data, 6 tags in 4 events …

TRANSVERSE MOMENTUM EVOLUTION OF HADRON-V0 CORRELATIONS IN PP COLLISIONS AT 7 TEV
… is capable of accelerating beams of protons (pp) and heavy-ions (Pb+Pb) up to nearly the speed of light, which corresponds to center of mass energies of 7 TeV and 2.76 TeV, respectively. The goal of the pp program is to investigate physics of and beyond the standard model, while the heavy-ion …

The proton's longitudinal spin structure studied through the weak interaction in pp collisions
… production ($A_L^W$) in polarized proton-proton collisions. In this measurement, the parity violating weak interaction serves, compared to than previously used techniques, as a cleaner and more direct probe of flavor separated quark and antiquark spin-dependent momentum distributions. This is …

A measurement of σ•B(Z°→µ+µ-) in PP collisions at √S = 1.8 TEV
A measurement in the muon channel of Z° production cross sections time branching radios yields σ•B(Z°→µ+µ-) = 228 ± 22(stat) ± 19(sys) nb where the largest uncertainty comes from the statistics of the data sample. The Standard Model predictions agree with the above results.

Light vector meson production at forward rapidity in pp collisions at the LHC with the ALICE detector
… interacting matter produced in heavy ion collisions. In fact, in the QGP an enhancement of the strange particle production should be present (strangeness enhancement), which means a Nø/Nρ+ω ratio increasing in A-A collisions with respect to pp colli- sions; pp collisions provide a …

Feasibility study on extracting the gluon polarization in Di-Jet production in polarized pp collisions at RHIC
The STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is carrying out a spin physics program at is = 200 - 500 GeV to gain a deeper insight into the spin structure and dynamics of the proton. These studies provide fundamental tests of Quantum …

Inclusive Electroweak measurements in the muon channel with pp collisions at [the square root of] s=7 TeV
… production of W and Z bosons in proton-proton collisions at [the square root of]s = 7 TeV with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In the LHC, W and Z bosons are produced at a high rate, providing for large yields, which along with the clean signature of W boson decay into a muon and neutrino and …

Precision measurement of the W boson mass with the CMS Experiment in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV
… the CMS detector at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV. The phenomenology of W bosons produced in pp collisions, the CMS detector characteristics, and other relevant factors are examined to justify the overall strategy to measure mW from the muon transverse momentum and …

Using Z-hadron correlations to probe the medium response in PbPb and pp collisions at √ˢNN = 5.02 TeV
… correlation function are reported in PbPb collisions at √ˢNN = 5.02 TeV, using the PbPb collision data taken in 2018. The integrated luminosity of the PbPb data is 1.67 ±0.03 nb⁻¹ which made the analysis possible for the first time. Collision data with at at least one Z boson with 40 <pT …

Improved Search for Heavy Neutral Scalars A and H Using ttZ Events from 13 TeV pp Collisions at CMS
… for a signal is observed. Model-independent upper limits on the product of cross section and branching fraction are set for A masses from 430 to 2100 GeV and H masses from 330 to 2000 GeV, assuming narrow resonances. The results are used to constrain the parameter space of the type-II …

Search for emerging-jet signatures in pp collisions at 13 TeV with CMS using a fully data-based method for background extraction
… for emerging jets produced in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. This search examines a hypothetical dark QCD sector that couples to the standard model through a scalar mediator. The scalar mediator decays into a standard model quark and a dark sector quark. As the …
