Concepts for Mechanistic-Empirical Design Procedure for Extended Life Hot Mix Asphalt Pavements With a Multi-Layered Structure
The load pulse duration generated by two FWDs (Dynatest and KUAB) was around 34 milliseconds. There was not a significant difference between the devices. The horizontal tensile strain pulse duration is not affected significantly by the thickness and multi-layered system of the pavements studied.
