  1. Symplectic and complex foliations

"Symplectic (not necessarily Riemannian) foliations have a transversely symplectic structure for which many standard results of symplectic geometry have their transverse analogues: the dual bundle to the transverse bundle of a foliation is a manifold with a canonical symplectic foliation, the …

  2. Minimal Models and Riemannian Foliations

… work, we consider minimal models of Riemannian foliations on connected, simply-connected manifolds following Lehmann. We show that if the minimal model has an underlying rational form of finite type, then it can be realized in rational homotopy by a fibration of finite CW complexes. As a …

  4. Foliations and exotic index theory

… the theorem of G. Yu to the index theory for the foliations. Using the functorial property of the Kasparov KK-product, the foliation exotic index theorem can be recovered via the connecting homomorphism of K-homology theory. In the case of Riemannian foliations on compact manifolds, the corona of …

  5. Foliations For Quasi-Fuchsian 3-Manifolds

In this paper, we prove that if a quasi-Fuchsian 3-manifold contains a minimal surface whose principal curvatures are in (-1, 1), then it admits a foliation such that each leaf is a surface of constant mean curvature. The key method that we use here is volume preserving mean curvature flow.

  6. Dual Homotopy Invariants of G-Foliations

… the secondary characteristic classes of smooth foliations are independently variable, extending the work of Heitsch in this direction. The homotopy groups (pi)(,n)(B(GAMMA)('q)) of the corresponding classifying space are shown to map onto (//R)('v(,n)), where {v(,n)} has a subsequence tending to …

  7. Geometric and dynamical properties of Riemannian foliations

Given a Riemannian foliation ${\cal F}$ on a Riemannian manifold M with a bundle-like metric, geometric and dynamical properties of geodesics orthogonal to the leaves of the foliation are studied.

  8. Symplectic foliations, currents, and local Lie groupoids

… treats two main topics: calibrated symplectic foliations, and local Lie groupoids. Calibrated symplectic foliations are one possible generalization of taut foliations of 3-manifolds to higher dimensions. Their study has been popular in recent years, and we collect several interesting results. …

  9. An Application of Stochastic Flows to Riemannian Foliations

A stochastic flow is constructed on a frame bundle adapted to a Riemannian foliation on a compact manifold. The generator A of the resulting transition semigroup is shown to preserve the basic functions and forms, and there is an essentially unique strictly positive smooth function $\phi$ …
