  1. Influence of Preventive Intervention of Decubitus for Old Patients in Intensive Care Unit On Skin pH,Moisture Content and Occurrence of Decubitus

  3. No Pressure!: Designing Mobile Interventions to Improve Pressure Relief Adherence for Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury through Diary Studies

Pressure injuries, otherwise known as decubitus ulcers or ‘bedsores’, affect an estimated 1 to 3 million people in the United States each year (Mondragon and Zito). Individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) are a particularly vulnerable group to pressure injuries due to the reduced mobility of …

  4. Pressure ulcer risk assessment and prevention system design.

Pressure ulcer (PU, bedsore, ischemia, decubitus ulcer) has become a global healthcare problem. In United Kingdom 412,000 people develop pressure ulcer annually and it costs the National Health Service (NHS) £1.4-£2.1 billion pounds (4% of total NHS budget). Pressure ulcers are a combined result of …

Previous literature showed weak and sometimes contradictory evidence regarding the best interventions to prevent pressure ulcers and the best factors that can serve as predictors for ulceration. The aim of this study was to explore effective interventions and associated risk factors in the area of …
