  1. Braid Groups on Graphs

… the tree T from a given four strand tree braid group B 4T up to homeomorphism. Thus tree braid groups B4T and trees T (up to homeomorphism) are in bijective correspondence. We use this bijection to solve a version of the isomorphism problem for tree braid groups with n = 4 strands.

… the theory of infinite multiplication to other groups and give a few examples of how this can be done. In particular, we discuss the theory as applied to symmetric groups and braid groups. We also give an equivalent definition to K. Eda's infinitary product as the fundamental group of a modified …

  6. Two Aspects of Topology in Graph Configuration Spaces

… spaces are closely related to classical braid groups, which can be described as fundamental groups of configuration spaces of points in the plane. We examine this relationship by finding a presentation for the fundamental group of one graph configuration space.

Group operads apply to homotopy theory via their associated monads. As an application, all braid groups and symmetric groups are used to produce a free group …

  8. Study of the dynamics of transport and mixing using set oriented methods

… dimensional flows can be classified according to braid groups. One can predict a lower bound on the topological entropy (i.e. exponential rate of stretching of material lines) of flows (hf) by applying the Thurston-Nielsen classification theorems to these braids. This gives a reduced …
