  1. Projective Space: Structuring a Beholder’s Imaginative Response

… relationship between an artwork and the space of its reception. It proposes a distinctive position on spatiality and the virtual. The thesis is submitted in two parts: a written thesis (Part One), and a documentation of my own art practice (Part Two). The artwork that comprises the …

  3. Semidefinite programming bounds for codes in complex projective space

… three-point bounds for codes in complex projective space, where previously only two-point linear programming bounds were known. We discuss how these bounds can be computed numerically using semidefinite programming, and provide a framework that allows for proofs of universal optimality …

  4. A geometric construction of a Calabi quasimorphism on projective space

We use the rotation numbers defined by Théret in [T] to construct a quasimorphism on the universal cover of the Hamiltonian group of CPⁿ. We also show that this quasimorphism agrees with the Calabi invariant for isotopies that are supported in displaceable subsets of CPⁿ.

  8. A compact moduli space for Cohen-Macaulay curves in projective space

… moduli functor parametrizing finite maps from a projective (locally) Cohen-Macaulay curve to a fixed projective space. The definition of the functor includes a number of technical conditions, but the most important is that the map is almost everywhere an isomorphism onto its image. The motivation …

  11. Localization genus of classifying spaces

… for a large class of torsionfree classifying spaces, K-theory filtered ring is an invariant of the genus. We apply this result in two ways. First, we use it to show that the powerseries ring on n indeterminates over the integers admits uncountably many mutually non-isomorphic [lambda]-ring …

This paper defines tropical projective space, TP^n, and the tropical general linear group TPGL(n). In this thesis, we first consider the projective space P^m and prove that lifts of Frobenius do not exist on its arithmetic jet spaces J^n(P^m_R) for n, m >= 1.
