  6. Photo-Nuclear Reactions in Silicon-28 by Monochromatic Photons of 17.1 Mev - 19.1 Mev

The photo-nuclear reaction cross-sections of Si28 were measured in the energy range from 17.1 to 19.1 MeV. The University of Illinois bremsstrahlung monochromator was used to define the incident gamma ray energy to about 300 keV. A 3 mm si detector was used as a target.

  8. Multiple Monoenergetic Gamma Radiography (MMGR) using compact superconducting cyclotron

Smuggling of special nuclear materials (SNM) and nuclear devices through borders and ports of entry constitutes a major risk to global security. Reliable technologies are imperative for screening the flow of commerce for the presence of high-Z materials such as uranium and plutonium. This thesis …

  9. Monte Carlo simulation and experimental studies of the production of neutron-rich medical isotopes using a particle accelerator.

The developments of nuclear medicine lead to an increasing demand for the production of radioisotopes with suitable nuclear and chemical properties. Furthermore, from the literature it is evident that the production of radioisotopes using charged-particle accelerators instead of nuclear reactors is …
