Geologic History and the Timing of Mineralization at the Haile Gold Mine

New Re-Os measurements from molybdenite from three samples of mineralized drill core at the Haile Gold Mine, SC have yielded ages of 548.7 ± 4.2, 549.0 ± 3.1, 548.4 ± 2.4 and 541.2 ± 2.3. These combined ages suggest molybdenite formation at Haile occurred between approximately 540 and 552 Ma. …

Mineralogical Characterization of Uranium Ores, Blends and Resulting Leach Residues from Key Lake Pilot Plant, Saskatchewan, Canada
… by sulphides including cobaltite, gersdorffite, molybdenite, pyrite, galena and chalcopyrite, secondary Ni-arsenates (annabergite?), Fe-arsenate (scorodite?) and Ni-Co/Ni-sulfates. The secondary arsenates and sulfates present in special waste were identified as major As, Mo, Ni, and Se bearing …

The Evolution of the Los Negritos Porphyry Copper Deposit, Coquimbo, Chile: Geological, Geochronological, Mineralogical and Geochemical Evidence
… alteration, with chalcopyrite, molybdenite (date at 108.5 ± 0.5 Ma) and gold (up to 0.11 ppm), and the surrounding volcanic host rock was overprinted by chlorite‐epidote dominated (propylitic) alteration. Subsequent to the P2 and P3 intrusion, these rocks were affected by albite …

Optimization of a Copper/Molybdenum Flotation Circuit by Depressing Pyrite from the Rougher Flotation Stage Using Different Scheme of Reagents
… promoter as chalcopyrite collectors, fuel oil as molybdenite collector, and sodium sulfite, zinc sulfate, calcium hydroxide and potassium dichromate as pyrite depressants from a literature review and expert suggestions. Of the reagents tested, potassium dichromate was included as a modification to …

Paragenetic Evolution of the Robertson Deposit: Eocene Intrusion Related Gold Deposit in the Northern Shoshone Range, Nevada
… new U/Pb LA-ICP-MS ages of intrusive phases, one molybdenite Re/Os age, and one hydrothermal orthoclase 40Ar/39Ar age, conservatively constraining gold mineralization to 39.65-35.77 Ma. Emplacement of the Tenabo stock resulted in contact metamorphism of the host siliciclastic lithologies yielding …

The geochemistry of carbonate-hosted Pb-Zn-Ag mineralization in the Lavrion District, Attica, Greece: fluid inclusion, stable isotope, and rare earth element studies
… The Plaka granodiorite contains porphyry molybdenite mineralization and is spatially associated with a Cu-Fe skarn. Carbonate-replacement deposits occur predominantly in marbles (Upper and Lower marble of the Basal Unit), Kaesariani schists, and along a major detachment fault. Orebodies …

Copper mineralization in the Coed-Y-Brenin Porphyry Copper Deposit, North Wales: Mineralogy and Textures
… solid solution. Molybdenum was detected within molybdenite (up to 890ppm), included within calcite, and associated with pyrite and chalcopyrite.

Seven stages of ore mineral paragenesis were observed within the samples. Although it is anticipated that more stages are likely present, …

Metallogenesis of Cu deposits in Upper Palaeozoic sedimentary rocks, southern Ireland
… chalcocite. Re-Os geochronology measurements on molybdenite samples, associated with the vein hosted copper sulphides, reveal ages of 367.3 ± 5.5 to 366.4 ± 1.9 Ma (Upper Devonian, syn-basinal) for the Allihies deposit on Beara Peninsula, and from 315.5 ± 1.6 Ma to 311.8 ± 1.6 Ma (Pennsylvanian, …

Deportment of radionuclides in copper concentrate from Olympic Dam
… high surface area minerals such as covellite and molybdenite have been identified, as well as electrokinetic effects responsible for substantial uptake of RNs on the surface of sulphide minerals. Additionally, diffusion experiments were performed on synthetic minerals to determine mobility of Sr, …

Physical and chemical aspects of fluid evolution in hydrothermal ore systems
… magmatic-hydrothermal transition and coincident molybdenite precipitation at Questa, New Mexico, has been traced using fluid inclusion microthermometry. The lack of cogenetic liquid- and vapor-rich inclusions, plus final homogenization of most saline, liquid-rich inclusions by halite dissolution …

Characterization of the CRM occurrences in ore deposits of Sardinia
… hydrothermal veins, locally exploited for their molybdenite, cassiterite, wolframite and arsenopyrite mineralization and skarn deposits. Indeed, skarns are probably the most recurrent type of ore deposits in SW Sardinia (Sulcis district), and to a lesser extent in SE and central Sardinia …

Time-Space Relationships between Sediment-Hosted Gold Mineralization and Intrusion-Related Polymetallic Mineralization at Kinsley Mountain, NV
… carbonate country rock proximal to the stock. Molybdenite in skarn near the stock returned a Re-Os age of 37.88 ± 0.3 Ma. Numerous cogenetic dikes extend up to 4 km north of the stock into the area of the SHGDs. SHG mineralization is primarily hosted by the Cambrian Dunderberg Shale and Secret …
