Customized ranking by user preference using LRR model
… e.g., service, environment, price. We used the LRR (Latent Rating Regression) model to aggregate restaurants aspect score and proposed two ranking approaches. The experiment results show that the two ranking approaches are both better than the baseline ranking approach.

Toward the understanding of TIR-NB-LRR–mediated immunity; study of the AvrRps4 recognition model in Arabidopsis
… innate immunity and is mainly mediated by NB-LRR resistance (R) proteins. However, the mechanisms by which NB-LRR proteins recognize effectors and induce downstream signaling events are poorly known. This PhD work focused on the characterization of TIR-NB-LRR–mediated immnunity in plants. In …

Liquidity and agricultural lending in Malawi
… is the liquidity reserve requirements (LRR). This study departed on the theoretical understanding that quantitative tightening through LRR affects the liquidity position (and funding needs) of the banking system which consequently affect lending levels towards the economy (Alper et al., …

An investigation of gene expression, alternative splicing and nonsense-mediated decay in potato in response to Phytophthora infestans infection
… nucleotide binding leucine-rich repeat (NB-LRR) proteins, leading to effector-triggered immunity (ETI). Using a NB-LRR gene enrichment and RNA-seq, previous studies identified over 700 NB-LRR genes in potato.<br/><br/>Dynamic changes in alternative splicing (AS) of NB-LRR genes have been …

Impacts of Crop Residue and Cover Crops on Soil Hydrological Properties, Soil Water Storage and Water Use Efficiency of Soybean Crop
… treatments that include low residue removal (LRR) and high residue removal (HRR) were established in 2000 with randomized complete block design under no-till corn (Zea mays L.) and soybean (Glycine max L.) rotation. In 2005, cover crop treatments which include cover crops (CC) and no cover …

Improving Soybean Resistance to Cyst Nematodes and Fusaria: Near Isoline and Transgenic Analyses of the Rhg1/Rfs2 Locus and Identification of Proteins That Bind to Receptor Kinases
… were conducted on the leucine rich repeat (LRR) from RLK protein encoded by GmRLK18-1 within the Rhg1/Rfs2 locus. The LRR of GmRLK18-1 showed a high binding affinity to CLE-like peptides found in both nematode secretions and plant developmental control. …

Profitability of Smallholder Sugarcane Farming Systems in Tanzania: A Comparative Analysis Between Block Farming and Traditional Farming Systems in Morogoro.
… of the farming systems on loan repayment rate (LRR) has also been analysed. BFS appears to be significantly more effective than TFS on both profitability and loan repayments. Profitability, expressed as a ratio of operating income to revenue, is significantly higher by 17% in BFS (M = 0.56) than …

Das "Leucine-Rich Repeat" im Invasionsprotein Internalin B : Stabilität und Faltung eines Solenoidproteins

Engineering durable late blight resistance to protect solanaceous plants
… by the potato R3a protein, a member of the CC-NB-LRR type resistance gene family. However, the closely related virulent form, AVR3aEM, which is homozygous in more than 70% of wild <i>P. infestans</i> isolates, evades this recognition.Domain swapping experiments have revealed that the …

Adaptive Protocols for Frequency-Hop Packet Radio Networks
… into the protocols. Least-resistance routing (LRR) is improved through the use of new metrics that give a quantitative assessment of the interference environment experienced by the receiver in a FH radio, and the key information needed for these metrics is extracted from the decoder. The …

Genome and Transcriptome Based Characterization of Low Phytate Soybean and Rsv3-Type Resistance to Soybean Mosaic Virus
… binding-leucine rich repeat (CC-NB-LRR) protein-encoding genes. This dissertation employed a comparative sequencing approach to narrow down the list of Rsv3 gene candidates to the most promising CC-NB-LRR gene. The evidence provided in this study clearly indicates a single CC-NB-LRR …

SCRIBBLE: A POTENTIAL DUAL KINASE INHIBITOR
… as a binding partner. Scribble contains 16 LRR domains and four PDZ domains. We performed immunoprecipitation (IP) assays and discovered ERK2 as another binding partner. Surprisingly, no interaction was observed with the highly homologous MAP kinase, ERK1. No other representative kinases …

Protein Engineering for Biomedical Materials
… consensus sequence of the leucine rich repeat (LRR) domain of the NOD family of cytoplasmic innate immune system receptors. Innate immunity receptors have been described as pattern recognition receptors in that they recognize "global features" of a family of pathogens versus one specific …

Dissecting the genetic basis of wheat yellow rust resistance in the NIAB Elite MAGIC population
… assembly. Five QTLs were characterised by NBS-LRR clusters. The presence of NBS-LRR-encoding genes with integrated domains revealed the potential for effector triggered immunity based on indirect recognition for a subset of those yellow rust resistance loci. The other three QTL were …

Genes and mechanisms in Arabidopsis innate immunity against Leptosphaeria maculans
… revealed that resistance was dependent on TIR-NB-LRR resistance genes (RLM1Col and RLM2Ler), which were independent of signalling components previously associated to all TIR-NB-LRR resistance genes. RLM1Col was found to be responsible for L. maculans induced callose depositions. A segregant …
