  1. Neuronal Nitric Oxide synthase regulates the expression of EAAT4 and GAD65/67 in the murine cerebellum

… in male nNOS-/- mice. Lastly, there is decreased GAD65/67 expression in both male and female nNOS-/- nice compared to age-matched WT mice. Our results provide new knowledge of NO regulation of cerebellar synaptic transmission, which may advance the development of cerebellar ataxia therapeutics.

  2. Engineering Secreted Proteins for Gene Transfer and DNA Vaccination

… autoimmune disease using gene vaccination, human GAD65 was engineered to be secreted by mammalian cells. GAD65 is a major autoimmune antigen involved in the development of type I diabetes in both non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice and human patients. After the removal of the N-terminal end of GAD65, …

  3. Effects of developmental PCB exposure on audiogenic and amygdala kindling models of seizure

… There also was a significant decrease in GAD65 but no decrease in GAD67 or GABAAα1 protein levels in the IC of PCB exposed animals compared to controls. A study was then conducted to assess whether developmental PCB exposure would result in increased seizure susceptibility outside the …

… its receptors, and glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD65/67); its rate limiting enzyme. GABAergic interneurons function as essential regulators of fear memory through their direct inhibitory influence on excitatory pyramidal cells (PCs) throughout the amygdala, hippocampus, and PFC. This study …

  7. Identification of novel palmitoyl acyl transferases and characterization of the role of Huntingtin palmitoylation in Huntington Disease

… neuronal substrates such as SNAP25, PSD95 and GAD65. By contrast, mutant htt does not act this way, probably due to lack of interaction with HIP14. Furthermore, immunoprecipitated HIP14 from huntingtin+/- mice also exhibits less enzyme activity in palmitoylating GST-SNAP25 in vitro, suggesting …
