Foliations For Quasi-Fuchsian 3-Manifolds
In this paper, we prove that if a quasi-Fuchsian 3-manifold contains a minimal surface whose principal curvatures are in (-1, 1), then it admits a foliation such that each leaf is a surface of constant mean curvature. The key method that we use here is volume preserving mean curvature flow.

Residually finite properties of covering spaces
… go with the negative ones. It is well known that Fuchsian groups are residually finite. Section 4 provides some topological construction of Fuchsian groups which yield a simple proof of their residual finiteness.

Some Extensions of the Skolem-Mahler-Lech Theorem
… equations with polynomial coefficients of Fuchsian type are skomal. We also extend the Skolem-Mahler-Lech theorem in some other directions from the case of rational functions, and obtain certain arithmetical properties for functions satisfying linear differential equations with polynomial …

Composition Sequences and Semigroups of Möbius Transformations
… results that have counterparts in the theory of Fuchsian groups. For example we show that aside from a certain exceptional family, any finitely-generated semigroup S is semidiscrete precisely when every two-generator semigroup contained in S is semidiscrete. We show that the limit sets of a …

Detecting topological properties of boundaries of hyperbolic groups
… determine whether or not that group is virtually Fuchsian. The final chapter of this thesis studies the problem of detecting Cech cohomological features in boundaries of hyperbolic groups. Epstein asked whether there is an algorithm that computes the Cech cohomology of the boundary of a given …

New Methods for Finding Non-Left-Orderable and Unique Product Groups
In this paper, we present techniques for proving a group to be non-left-orderable or a unique product group. These methods involve the existence of a mapping from the group to R which obeys a left-multiplication criterion. By determining the existence or non-existence of such a mapping, the desired …
