  1. Extracellular Matrix Metalloproteinase Inducer (Emmprin) Regulates Matrix Metalloproteinases in Human and Baboon Uterine Endometrium

… cells secreted a full-length functional form of EMMPRIN that stimulated stromal expression of MMP-1,-2 and -3 but not EMMPRIN. We also found that endogenous stromal cell expression of EMMPRIN was important but not required for MMP stimulation.

… ectopic endometriotic cells; and 3) characterize EMMPRIN expression in the eutopic endometrium in women with endometriosis-related infertility and its correlation to elevated IL-17 expression. Endometrial biopsy samples collected from patients during the mid- to late-secretory phase of their …

  3. CHARACTERIZATION OF THERANOSTIC PEPTIDES FOR GLIOBLASTOMA MULTIFORME

… <em>m</em>etalloproteinase <em>in</em>ducer (EMMPRIN; Basigin) isoform 2, toward U87 GBM and MSU 1.1 human foreskin fibroblast cell line labelling. A novel cDNA construct coding a recombinant chlorotoxin (rCTX) variant for periplasmic prokaryotic expression and histidine-tag purification was …

  4. The Overexpression of Basigin-3 in Glioblastoma

… the disease. The protein Basigin-2 (aka EMMPRIN) induces the expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) enzymes, and its expression level is positively correlated with GBM tumor grade. In 2011, Liao et al. reported that a splice variant of the basigin gene, called Basigin-3, may have an …

  5. Expression and secretion of basigin by human placental trophoblast cells occurs via microvesicle shedding and is a regulated process

… matrix metalloproteinase inducer (EMMPRIN) is able to regulate MMP production and is critical for successful implantation, angiogenesis and parturition. However, expression and specific functions of BSG during the first trimester of pregnancy in human placenta have not been …

  6. Collagen gene expression in human cancer

… derived collagenase stimulatory factor (known as EMMPRIN or extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer) which stimulates fibroblasts to secrete collagenases and has been shown to play a crucial role in tumour invasion (Biswas 1982, 1984 and Biswas et al, 1995).
