Characterization and Efficacy of Cobalt Compounds as in Vivo Magnetic Resonance Temperature Probes
This work demonstrates that $\sp{59}$Co NMR can be used to determine temperature changes in vivo. The liposome encapsulated $\rm \lbrack Co(en)\sb3\rbrack Cl\sb3$ and Co(Hp) (Im) $\sb2\sp+$ show promise as in vivo MR temperature probes. The relatively high accumulation of Co(Hp) (Im) $\sb2\sp+$ in …

In Situ Studies of Surface Electric Field on Cobalt Oxide Electrode Surfaces with Second Harmonic Generation (SHG)
Cobalt compounds are proven to be efficient electrochemical (EC) catalysts, and the surface electric field may partly explain the efficiency. Surface electric field indicates electron/hole separation, and accumulation in the space charge layer, which can be probed in situ by electric field-induced …

Substitution chemistry of the cobalt complexes RCCo3(CO)9 (R = H, CHO) with the diphosphine ligand: 4,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)-4-cyclopenten-1,3-dione (bpcd). Syntheses, X-ray structures and reactivity.
The reaction between the tetrahedrane cluster RCCo3(CO)9{R = CHO (1), H (3)} and the redox-active diphosphine ligand 4,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)-4-cyclopenten-1,3- dione (bpcd) leads to the replacement of two CO groups and formation of RCCo3(CO)7(bpcd) {R = CHO (2), H (4)}. Clusters 2 and 4 are …
