교통사고, 산업자해, 자살 등의 증가로 인해 외상환자는 꾸준히 늘어나고 있으며 국내에서도 중증 외상에 해당하는 손상정도계수 15점 이상의 외상환자들도 매년 수만 명 이상 발생하고 있다. 하지만 우리나라는 선진국에 비해 아직 외상전달체계가 확립되어 있지 않고 중증 외상환자 치료를 전담할 외상전문센터 또한 부족하며 응급의료센터는 입원대기환자 및 비 외상환자의 내원 증가로 인한 진료지연 등으로 인해 많은 중증 외상환자들이 권역응급의료센터로 내원하였음에도 불구하고 수술 및 중환자치료를 위해 타 의료기관으로 전원을 가고 있다. 이에 저자는 …
