  1. Effects of Cadmium on VCAM-1 Expression

  2. Dysfunction of Pancreatic INS-1 Beta-Cells Induced by Chronic Exposure to High Glucose

  3. Coronavirus Replication Inhibition by Herbal Extracts

Coronaviruses are plus-stranded RNA viruses that infect human and large variety of animals, including pig, cattle, dog, rat, rabbit, turkey, and bird. Human coronavirus has been known to cause common colds and perhaps gastroenteritis. Animal coronaviruses cause gastroenteritis, hepatitis, and a …

  4. Effects of loigomycin, F0/F1 ATP-synthase inhibitor on mitochondrial morphology and dynamics

Mitochondrial fission has recently been well-recognized as a factor involved in apoptosis although its role and the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Recently, we monitored the effects of mitochondrial respiratory inhibitors [rotenone, TTFA (2-thenoyltrifluoro-acetone), antimycin A, and …

  5. The Effect of Withdrawal of Angiotensin II Blockers on Serum Creatinine and Potassium in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease

BACKGROUND: Renin-angiotensin system (RAS) blockers have been used to delay the progression of various renal diseases, but these medications cause hyperkalemia and the elevation of serum creatinine which impede the continuation of the medications. So far, there have been no data which observe the …

  6. Enhancement of Antitumor Activities of a Selective Cyclooxygenase-2 Inhibitor, Celecoxib on the Lewis Lung Carcinoma that Express Cyclooxygenase-2

COX-2 promotes carcinogenesis, tumor proliferation and growth, angiogenesis, prevention of apoptosis, immunosuppression. Selective inhibition of COX-2 activity in several animal models is associated with decrease in new vessel production in tumors, decreases in new vessel formation, and increases …

  7. Mesenchymal Stem Cells Therapy in Progressive Rat Model of Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a common progressive neurodegenerative disorder caused by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra (SN). In present study, we investigated the effect of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) therapy in vitro and progressive SD rat model of PD using MG-132, …
