Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis is an investigation into the construction of ephemeral phenomena through material means and at multiple scales. Studies utilized abstract methods that are not immediately relatable to the scale of occupable architecture but at the same time convey inhabitability. These investigations informed the design of an art gallery for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and the town of Blacksburg, Virginia.
