Architecture, A Public Engagement with: Purpose, Poetry, Place, Prospect, Program, Principle, Process
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe purpose of the Times Square Civic Center is to deal with the street as a living, breathing member of the community just as the street was treated in the Old Town of the 18th Century. The Times Square Civic Center demonstrates ways in which architecture engages its public by allowing visitors to take part in its identification, function and composition as it takes on the aspect of a gentleman.
