Šiaulių krašto muziejų edukacinės veiklos analizė /
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe Analysis of Educational Activities at the Museums of Šiauliai Region Educational activities held by museums are the possibilities to learn at museums. The museums and various related educational activities grant the students and adults the possibilities to learn, improve and deepen their knowledge in certain fields. The first part of the research employed the comparative analysis, statistical and interview methods. Four state museums in Šiauliai Region (Kelmė Regional Museum, Akmenė Regional Museum, Joniškis Museum of History and Culture and Šiauliai Aušra Musuem) and 5 school museums (Šiauliai City Zokniai Preparatory Gymnasium, Šiauliai Julius Janonis Gymnasium, Šiauliai Dainai Preparatory Gymnasium, Kuršėnai Stasys Anglickis School and Gruzdžiai Gymnasium) participated in the research. The following four non-traditional museums participated as well: Pakruojis Manor, Daugyvenė Cultural History Museum and Nature Reserve, Kražiai Motiejus Kazimieras Sarbievijus Cultural Center Museum and Chocolate Museum. The educational programs of all the participating museums and their prices were analyzed and compared. The state museums hold as many as 67 educational programs, the school museums offer 39 educational programs, and non-traditional museums offer 16 educational programs. The state and non-traditional museums are mostly focused on the application of theoretical and practical methods (visual and creative methods). The school museums have a slightly different policy of accentuating the theoretical methods (verbal, past analysis (history). The second part of the paper contains a questionnaire-based survey of 22 state and non-traditional museums in Šiauliai Region and 7 employers of Šiauliai Region school museums. The respondents had to assess the necessity and significance of the educational programs offered at the museums and the future plans of the museums. 148 visitors of the museums were also questioned. They had to assess the educational programs offered by the museums, their prices and applied methods. The 4 teachers who were also experts in psychology were asked to assess the personal psychological climate, i.e. the effects the participation in educational activities at museums had on the person, his/her skills and personal features. The survey of all those groups of respondents revealed that the relation between the museum and visitors should be further nurtured (i.e. regular surveys of the museum visitors, improvements to the educational programs in respect to the feedback provided by the visitors, etc.). To cultivate this relation, various information technologies, advertising tools and special offers could be employed. In terms of methods applied in educational programs, it should be noted that these methods should be more active so that each participant is involved in the educational activity held at the museum.
