Muzikos mokytojo vaidmuo ugdymo paradigmų kaitos kontekste /
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe peculiarities of the classical and liberal education paradigms and how they affect a teacher’s activities and his/ her role are revealed in the Paper. The aim of the Final Thesis is to reveal music teachers’ attitude working in Šiauliai City towards their role in the context of educational paradigm shift. The following tasks have been set in order to achieve the aforementioned aim: to analyse the concept of education as well as factors associated with it, to review the trends of educational paradigm shift, to analyse the classical and liberal education paradigms, to reveal changes in teacher’s activities in the context of educational paradigms, to ascertain whether there are any changes in the music teachers’ role in the context of paradigms. Subject of the research: shift in music teacher’s role caused by educational paradigms. Questionnaire survey method was used for the research, 27 teachers were interviewed. The novelty of the research is revealed in that there still have been very little researches involving the role of a music teacher in the context of paradigms. The research results have shown that teachers’ attitude and thinking is getting more liberal and more acceptable in terms of the natural development of a child. A teacher is more often seen as an assistant, advisor in the educational process. The role of a supervisor, tamer is refused of. The remainder of the classical educational paradigm mostly can be seen in the teaching methods and strategies, the passive, oral methods often prevail. Upon analysis of scientific readings we may claim that the classical educational paradigm is slowly leaving the school, however, teachers are still being influenced by it, they still associate their image with the old traditions, even they do not realise that consciously.
