Dalius Serafinas Vilnius, 2024 SUMMARY 52 pages, 2 figures, 20 tables, 30 references The aim of the Bachelor's thesis is to identify the main problems in Lithuanian gymnasiums and to present proposals for improving the quality of education in them. Objectives: 1. To review the general situation in the education system, in the aspect of the quality of education in gymnasiums; 2. To identify the main problems of the quality of education; 3. To identify possible ways of solving the problems and to explain how these ways could contribute to the improvement of the quality of education in gymnasiums. Research meto identify possible ways of solving the problems and to explain how these ways could contribute to the improvement of the quality of education in gymnasiums.thods - analysis of scientific literature and statistical data, qualitative research method - structured interview. The main educational problems in gymnasiums, which negatively affect the quality of education, were identified during the research: too many students in classrooms, shortage of teachers, gaps in knowledge caused by distance learning. After analysing all the data, the qualitative research found the main solutions to these problems: more funding for the education system, involving teachers in the development of educational programmes. These solutions would ensure the improvement of the quality of education in gymnasiums.
