The aim of research work: Establishing the associations between thoracic spine, hip joint mobility, and back pain in individuals with sedentary jobs. Tasks of work: 1. Assess the mobility of the thoracic spine, hip joint mobility, and the intensity of lower back pain in individuals with sedentary jobs. 2. Identify the associations between hip joint mobility and lower back pain. 3. Determine the associations between the thoracic spine and lower back pain. 4. Establish the associations between the mobility of the thoracic spine and the hip joint. Materials and methods: The study, conducted from January 22 to February 25, 2024, included 38 randomly selected participants. They performed hip and thoracic spine mobility tests, answered a specific questionnaire, and their lower back pain was assessed using a visual analog scale. Results: Our analysis revealed no statistically significant relationship between hip joint mobility tests and lower back pain. However, a weak positive correlation was found between lower back pain during exercises and positive hip mobility test results. The study showed a statistically significant correlation between thoracic spine mobility and lower back pain, suggesting reduced thoracic spine mobility is 7 associated with lower back pain. The study also confirmed a connection between thoracic spine mobility and hip joint mobility, indicating that the mobility of these two areas is interrelated. Conclusions: 1. Positive tests for thoracic spine mobility were found in 49.89% of participants. There were slightly fewer positive tests for hip joint mobility among participants, at 27.84%. Lower back pain was experienced by 52.63% of participants. 2. No statistically significant association was found between hip joint mobility and lower back pain. However, a weak positive correlation was noted between the pain experienced during exercises and the results of positive hip joint mobility tests. 3. A statistically significant association was identified between the mobility of the left side of the thoracic spine and the intensity of lower back pain. However, statistical analyses indicated no significant association on the right side, revealing an asymmetry between the sides. 4. No statistically significant association was found between hip joint mobility and thoracic spine mobility. However, a moderate positive correlation was observed between the mobility of the thoracic spine and hip joint mobility.
