The final thesis of bachelor analyses children‘s lifestyle and health education in the family. The hypothesis that parents pay too little attention to their children‘s health was formulated. 60 children of 13-16 years old studying in 8-11th classes and 60 parents, the average age of who was 41 year, participated in the research. The peculiarities of children lifestyle and the role of the family in children’s health education was researched by employing the method of questionnaire survey. Parents knowledge on their children’s lifestyle and health was set and their answers were compared with the answers to the analogous questions provided by the children. The analysis of the research data aimed to find out the peculiarities of children lifestyle and whether the parents pay enough attention to the health education of their children. The research revealed that the main health risk factors were children’s bad habits and too long period of time spent by watching TV and using computer, and lack of physical activities. The major part of parents smokes and uses alcohol in children’s sight. Taking into account the fact that children copy adult behaviour, this may distort the formation of children’s healthy critical approach to the harmful habits. The research revealed that parents provide too little information on health issues that are relevant to the children. There is a lack of communication between parents and children because parents are not interested enough in what their children are engaged in during a day, in addition, the vast majority of children do not feel safe in social environment and their children are unaware about that or are not interested. Thus, the hypothesis that parents pay too little attention to their children‘s health has been supported.
