Vietos veiklos grupių strategijos reikšmė kaimo bendruomenėms /

This master’s final paper there are structured theoretical aspects of strategy planning and realization of various authors from Lithuania and foreign countries in this Master’s paper. The main strategic opportunities, aims and priorities of Akmene and Telsiai LAG are explored and measures of their implementation are planned. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Akmene and Telsiai LAG are compared and needs of residents are explored. The research hypothesis is confirmed, that the strategies of local activities groups provide an opportunity for rural communities to improve the quality of life, their living environment (to improve an infrastructure, to develop services and to implement other needs of rural residents) however, the passivity of residents and the distrust of the government’s and their own opportunities, the incapability to exploit human and social capital minimizes the importance of strategies of the rural community. Rural development measures are planned with reference to the most important problems (mainly infrastructure related) recognized by rural population. These measures are expensive; therefore their implementation requires comprehensive investigation and discussion.
