Abstract
dc:descriptionIn bacteria, sialic acids act as virulence factors for certain pathogens, and have been determined to play an important role in the establishment of many disease states. Therefore, studying the intricacies of sialic acid metabolism and its regulation provide a foundation for studying several medically important host-pathogen interactions.
