The Well -Being and Reading Achievement of Older Youth in Out -of -Home Care
Abstract
dc:descriptionThis study examined the well-being and predictors of educational competence of vulnerable adolescents in the child welfare system. The findings suggest that aspiration for higher education, placement in kinship care, and participation in school activities predicted greater probability of obtaining higher level reading skills, while drug use increased the risk of achieving lower reading levels.
