Magnetic Resonance Studies of Molybdenum and Chromium Compounds

Electron Paramagnetic Resonance spectra are presented for the Mo(III) ion substituted into three metal hexaurea triiodide hosts. Two of the hosts, vanadium and titanium, hexaurea triiodide are paramagnetic. Spectra typical of a spin 3/2 ion are observed at Q-band frequencies. Some structural information pertaining to the molybdenum hexaurea triiodide and molybdenum hexaurea tribromide ions is also presented. The former is found to be isomorphic with most metal hexaurea compounds while the latter forms a monoclinic cell with a space group C2/c.
