Abstract
dc:descriptionThis thesis has two goals. First, it provides a detailed treatment of the tone system of Jita, an Eastern Bantu language spoken in Northwestern Tanzania. Secondly, it examines recent theoretical issues in Bantu tonology, especially the interaction of tone and accent.
