A measurement of the pp ® Ks K s Reaction from 0.609 to 1.9 GeV/c
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe pp -+ K6 K6 -+ 47r± reaction was investigated at incident antiproton momenta between 0.609 and 1.9 GeV jc (1.964 and 2.395 GeV /c2 ) using the Low Energy Antiproton Ring (LEAR) at CERN. This investigation was part of an overall program searching for exotic resonances in antiproton-proton annihilations, focusing on the region near the e(2220). The pp-+ K6 K6 cross section is presented as a function of center-of-mass energy over this region. Upper limits are set for the likelihood of the production of the e(2220) in this channel based on its non-observation in the data presented. In addition, the differential cross section is presented over the limited region of the detector's acceptance. Near 2.149 GeV /c2 (1.2 GeV /c) the cross section rises sharply, which is consistent with the / 2 (2150) resonance.
