Initiation of Implantation and Decidualization in the Inbred Mouse.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIntimate contact between embryonic and maternal tissues is sine qua non for uterine development in eutherian mammals, since these species shed microlecithal eggs. The stores of nutrients (i.e. yolk) are so scanty in such an egg that independent development beyond the earliest stages cannot be supported.
