Interrole Conflict, Resolution Strategy, Locus of Control, and Sex Role Orientation Among Married Working Mothers.

This thesis focuses on interrole conflict and strategies for resolving this conflict in a sample of married working mothers. Specifically, it examines the relationship between these variables and sex role orientation and locus of control, two cognitive social learning person variables (Mischel, 1973), which represent well-learned patterns of perceiving and dealing with the environment. The study may increase the understanding of theoretical issues which surround interrole conflict and its resolution. It may also have practical value by suggesting solutions for problems associated with a current social phenomenon, i.e., the prevalence of working mothers in today's society.
