Effect of Porosity on the Elevated Temperature Fatigue Properties of Low-Alloy Steel Weldments.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis reports on a study of the effect of porosity on the elevated temperature fatigue properties of low-alloy steel weldments. The material selected for investigation was ASTM A387-D, a 2-1/4 Cr - 1 Mo low-alloy steel commonly used in the fabrication of welded. structures which must perform at elevated temperature, such as nuclear vessels and petroleum hydrocrackers.
