Design and Analysis of Refractive Optical Systems for Irradiance Redistribution of Collimated Radiation.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractLens systems that modify the irradiance distribution of a collimated beam of radiation are useful primarily in applications involving laser beams. Since a laser is a source of high intensity, coherent, monochromatic light, a number of diverse applications for lasers have been suggested. However, the laser beam does not have uniform distribution of light intensity across its diameter and there are many cases where this is a severe drawback.
