Restructuring of the gas and electricity industries in Europe
Abstract
dc:description.abstractWith the technological advances of the twenty first century, the stability and economic progress of any nation is largely dependent on the gas and electricity industries. The expansion of the European Union signifies that the coordination of these industries must be done in one accord. In light of this and various other reasons which are highlighted in this thesis, restructuring of the industries was approached in the form of deregulation. This deregulation is being introduced in stages, the last of which is expected on July 1 2007. This thesis gives an in-depth analysis of the deregulation of the gas and electricity industries in Europe in terms of its drivers, impediments, outcomes, developments and future expectations.
